The Gender Mainstreaming Program is supported by the
Myanmar NGO ‘Pyoe Pin’. The goal of the program is to mainstream gender in
non-formal education. It will be implemented at PDO High School.
The objectives are:
To make the program more realistic and relevant to the staff members, gender awareness training will be conducted through the perspective of Buddhist religious social teaching.
The project kicked off in July 2010 and will last six months.
The objectives are:
- providing gender awareness training to 200 staff members and teachers from PDO High School;
- reviewing the school curriculum and lesson plans from a gender perspective;
- developing a gender education curriculum for the basic education of middle school students;
- providing training of trainers (TOT) for a selected team of twenty staff members
